Early Spring Lawn Prep
We start when the weather starts to warm up. Cleaning up any debris (dead leaves, sticks, etc.) that may have accumulated over the winter months.
Pre-Emergent
The harder to control, annual grass-type weeds pop up late spring and early summer. Be proactive and time your pre-emergent treatment to kill those weeds before they germinate. There are two types of pre-emergent; request a free consultation and have one of our lawn care professionals help you decide which is better for you.
Fertilizing
Spring Time:
Applying after the pre-emergent will give your lawn a boost and make your grass greener. Using the right amount of starter fertilizer not only helps the grass to germinate quickly, but it also helps the grass to grow strong before winter. Apply another round of starter fertilizer four weeks after seeding to see even better results.
Fall Time:
Applying pre-winter fertilizer stores nutrients in your lawn during those cold months and helps it come back strong in the spring. It’s usually the most massive round of fertilizer we apply. Meaning it’s also one of the most critical applications. This fertilizer is used when the top growth of your grass slows but is still green on top with an active root system.
